In the novel Ling Hu, the Supreme Elder/Senior Ancestor survives along with some of the elites including Han Li's master, I am not so sure about Dong Xuan's master (and mother). been a while since I read the novel, not to mention she didnt feature that much in the novel.

Ling Hu actually tries to invite Han Li back into the Yellow Maple Sect, but he refuses, they then agreed upon Han Li helping the sect three times in exchange for three artifacts, he eventually dies at the age of 1,000 years old, there are also contributing factors which caused his death as well, but that is another day for spoilers or another person to provide those spoilers lol
Li Huayuan dies 10 years later in a battle after settling the sect in another place Again these things might change in the donghua

It's translator mistake, the title card should be Episode 53, Zai Bie Tiannan (Farewell Tiannan) Season 1
As I said before Fanren does it differently, it counts the total episodes for the entire Fanren series, then the Arc Name, then the season number, the season is not the same for years or when it is a start of a season the way we know it, more than likely it is a mini arc.
I just take it as total of episodes for the entire season and ignore arcs and seasons, much easier that way and less confusing

because we've never seen 332 episodes did we so it must be a mistake unless it was 32 episodes instead of 332 episodes...

Whether it is Wang Chan or the others in the frontlines, the Demonic Sects have every reason to want Han Li dead. Hong Fu is obvious, Yun Lu wants her.

Also, I wish Tencent\Sparkley Key had upgraded the CGI (and let's be honest, story line) in Soul Land like they did for this series. It's pretty amazing....

They are currently being animated by different studios, even though Tencent is the publisher and sometimes the financier of the project. Tencent does not have a say in the studio's daily operation or what they need to do in regards to the CGI, they just take the work and stream it, they can encourage the studio to improve the quality of the graphics but at the end of the day the responsibility is still on the studios and whether they have the financial means is another matter

Original Force which animates Fanren, has branches in different parts of China, are headquarter in Nanjing, they also do work for gaming studios around the world, they were involved with games like Call of Duty, Uncharted 4, the Sims, God of War to name a few, so they are very big and very experienced, therefore the characters they animate are very fluid and you can see that when they walk, and fights are animated using motion capture

Sparkley Animation which animates Soul Land and Swallowed Star, is based in Shanghai which was and some parts still subjected to Covid Lockdown, they are much smaller in comparison to Original Force. They do have other branches within China but they are not in the scale of Original Force. They are considered along with Original Force to be one of the best studios in China

Given time both studios will improve as technology improves and become cheaper, since the government is investing and subsidising heavily into computer and Ai related technology and softwares, you can compare the differences between season one of Soul Land and the current episodes.

Spunky old "ancestor linghu" used a trick to move all the yellow maple valley treasures by sacrificing all the students who he thinks has little or no future in cultivation, that includes han li because of his spirit root . So he used three waves of students. First wave was showed in last episode where the students were to fight and delay time for escape. Second wave was more sinister, used as decoy and release the news to demon dao six on their positions. The third one is to escape safely with all the treasures while the others were being slaughtered.
